I never meant to get us in this deep I never meant for this to mean a thing Oh, I wish you were the one Wish you were the one that got away
I got caught up by the chase And you got high on every little bit I wish you were the one Wish you were the one that got away
Chorus:
Oh, if I could go back in time When you only held me in my mind Just a longing, gone without a trace Oh, I wish I never ever seen your face I wish you were the one Wish you were the one that got away
I miss the way you wanted me When I was staying just out of your reach Begging for the slightest touch Ooh, you couldn't get enough, mmm
Chorus
Got away from me Got away from me For anybody has to breathe
I want you by my side So that I never feel alone again They've always been so kind But now they've brought you away from me I hope they didn't get your mind Your heart is too strong, anyway We need to fetch back the time They have stolen from us [Chorus]
I want you
We can bring it on the floor
Never danced like this before
We don't talk about it
Dancing on, do the boogie all night long
Stoned in paradise
We don't talk about it
I want you
We can bring it on the floor
Never danced like this before
We don't talk about it
Dancing on, do the boogie all night long
Stoned in paradise
We don't talk about it
We don't talk about it
Coldest winter for me
No sun is shining anymore
The only thing I feel is pain
Caused by absence of you
Suspense controlling my mind
I cannot find the way out of here
I want you by my side
So that I never feel alone again
That could describe the hurt the dullest knife just sawing back and forth
And ripping through the softest skin there ever was
How were you to know?
Well, how were you to know?
And I, I hate to see your heart break
I hate to see your eyes get darker as they close
But I’ve been there before
And I, I hate to see your heart break
I hate to see your eyes get darker as they close
But I’ve been there before
Love, happens all the time, to people who aren’t kind
And heroes who are blind,
Expecting perfect script in movie scenes
Once an awkward silence mystery
How were you to know?
Well how were you to know, oh, oh?
And I, I hate to see your heart break
I hate to see your eyes, get darker as they close
But I’ve been there before
And I, I hate to see your heart break
I hate to see your eyes, get darker as they close
But I’ve been there before
For all the air that’s in your lungs
For all the joy that is to come
For all the things that you’re alive to feel
Just let the pain remind you hearts can heal
Well, how were you to know?
Well, how were you to know?
And I, I hate to see your heart break
I hate to see your eyes, get darker as they close
But I’ve been there before
And I, I hate to see your heart break
I hate to see your eyes, get darker as they close
But I’ve been there before

Here's the video (featuring Joy William):
Such a beautiful emotional and empathetic song. The title itself talks explicitly about the theme of this very song. I hate to see your heartbreak.
It hurts to see someone that we deeply care for is hurting, stuck like quicksand. We don't want them to be hurting like that, and we honestly want to soothe them by somehow telling them that they aren't alone, we've been in that very same state before. We want them to get past this emotional strain and keep fighting for life. But, deep inside, we know how intense this hurt is which inevitably could sink us into depression. It requires strong force to keep pushing on through the pain. And we want them to know, we are here, we care for them and we want to help them pulling out of this dark suffering. Just keep moving on. Have faith in time, time does heal your heartbreak dear. ... How were you to know? ...
Forget any word doomed by any existence or reference The heart of it is not intended by preventing others Habibi (darling), I am at your memory between the conscious and unconscious But what you do, makes my dreams float and my feelings sail And from the hope of achieving something, you never say oh the sun peered (like just out of framework) Dawn breathes the same and your beauty shines early So what if the branch was aware of it thrown into the sun The darkness applies to without what you expect or yearn for The darkness breathes the aroma of breeze of beginning (sunrise) The reflection overlooks on the whole play with the breeze Extends the night and lits candles shackling between my ribs And passes me a spectrum breathing scattered repelled duty. --- Other version: I can’t erase you from my memory
And my heart loved only you
I think of you consciously and subconsciously
I see you in my dreams
And I feel you with my feelings
I hope for the sunrise
And I wait for the sun to shine so I can breathe
When the night comes, I hold the light between my ribs
All day staring at the ceiling Making friends with shadows on my wall All night hearing voices telling me That I should get some sleep Because tomorrow might be good for something
Hold on Feeling like I'm headed for a breakdown And I don't know why
CHORUS: But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell I know right now you can't tell But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see A different side of me I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired I know right now you don't care But soon enough you're gonna think of me And how I used to be, me
I'm talking to myself in public Dodging glances on the train And I know, I know they've all been talking about me I can hear them whisper And it makes me think there must be something wrong with me Out of all the hours thinking Somehow I've lost my mind
CHORUS
I've been talking in my sleep Pretty soon they'll come to get me Yeah, they're taking me away
CHORUS
Hey, how I used to be How I used to be Well, I'm just a little unwell How I used to be How I used to be I'm just a little unwell

Yeah, I may at times be a bit off the range. I had nightmares too. But, really, I'm fine. Thank you.
In my search for freedom And peace of mind I've left the memories behind Want to start a new life But it seems to be rather absurd When I know the truth Is that I always think of you
Someday someway Together we will be baby I will take and you will take your time We'll wait for our fate 'cause' nobody owns us baby We can shake we can shake the rock
Try to throw the picture out of my mind Try to leave the memories behind Here by the ocean Wave's carry voices from you Do you know the truth I am thinking of you too
Someday someway Together we will be baby I will take and you will take your time We'll wait for our fate 'cause' nobody owns us baby We can shake we can shake the rock
The love we had together Just fades away in time And now you've got your own world And I guess I've got mine But the passion that you planted In the middle of my heart Is a passion that will never stop -- Here's the version of this song that I like, the acoustic one. :)
Such an optimistic song. Simply about someone whom he wants to be with someday but for whatever reason cannot now. For the time being, both are taking their own times in contemplation of having freedom and peace of mind. He wishes that someday they could be together and burn brighter than before. Nevertheless, it seems to him that as time passes by, the love that they had together is fading away, losing its essence little by little for the passing days. They each has their own world now. He acknowledges that whilst the passion that person planted in his heart has been deeply rooted, it is unlikely for them to be able to reconnect again as desired by him. He's being realistic and doesn't lament this desire.
Wonderful and emotional song it is! The catchiness of this song tremendously spread the vibe of goofiness, each time this song is played, each time.... pffttt...
It's not a silly little moment It's not the storm before the calm This is the deep and dyin' breath of This love we've been workin' on
Can't seem to hold you like I want to So I can feel you in my arms Nobody's gonna come and save you We pulled too many false alarms
We're goin' down And you can see it too We're goin' down And you know that we're doomed My dear We're slow dancing in a burnin' room
I was the one you always dreamed of You were the one I tried to draw How dare you say it's nothing to me Baby, you're the only light I ever saw
I'll make the most of all the sadness You'll be a bitch because you can You try to hit me, just hurt me So you leave me feeling dirty 'Cause you can't understand
We're goin' down And you can see it too We're goin' down And you know that we're doomed My dear We're slow dancing in a burnin' room
Go cry about it, why don't you Go cry about it, why don't you Go cry about it, why don't you My dear, we're slow dancin' in a burnin' room Burnin' room, burnin' room Don't you think we outta know by now? Don't you think we shoulda learned somehow? ---
Crawling in my skin These wounds, they will not heal Fear is how I fall Confusing what is real
There's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface Consuming, confusing This lack of self control I fear is never ending Controlling I can't seem To find myself again My walls are closing in (Without a sense of confidence I'm convinced That there's just too much pressure to take) I've felt this way before So insecure
Crawling in my skin These wounds, they will not heal Fear is how I fall Confusing what is real
Discomfort, endlessly has pulled itself upon me Distracting, reacting Against my will I stand beside my own reflection It's haunting how I can't seem
To find myself again My walls are closing in (Without a sense of confidence I'm convinced That there's just too much pressure to take) I've felt this way before So insecure

You know it ain't easy For these thoughts here to leave me There's no words to describe it In French or in English Well, diamonds they fade And flowers they bloom And I'm telling you These feelings won't go away
They've been knockin' me sideways They've been knockin' me out lately Whenever you come around me These feelings won't go away They've been knockin' me sideways I keep thinking in a moment that Time will take them away But these feelings won't go away --- Really, such a beautiful song. It got me immediately the first time I listened to it. I could feel it and somehow could relate to each lines of it. I'm personally find the first few lines are most especially and accurately relatable. Dealing with my own thoughts and emotions, uncontrollably, was/is truly not an easy thing. The language of this song is absolutely gorgeous. Deep. Isn't diamond one of the hardest/strongest metal? But, why it says "diamonds they fade"? Would that be possible? And "flowers they bloom" follows next. These two lines contradict each other, aren't they? So, why? So amazing, we can get this song interpreted in many ways, anyway we want to, and one's interpretation is very likely to differ from others. These type of songs really catch my attention and interest. Here's the video:
