Four Seasons by Fazza

Forget any word doomed by any existence or reference

The heart of it is not intended by preventing others

Habibi (darling), I am at your memory between the conscious and unconscious

But what you do, makes my dreams float and my feelings sail

And from the hope of achieving something, you never say oh the sun peered (like just out of framework)

Dawn breathes the same and your beauty shines early

So what if the branch was aware of it thrown into the sun

The darkness applies to without what you expect or yearn for

The darkness breathes the aroma of breeze of beginning (sunrise)

The reflection overlooks on the whole play with the breeze

Extends the night and lits candles shackling between my ribs

And passes me a spectrum breathing scattered repelled duty.

---
Other version:

I can’t erase you from my memory
And my heart  loved only you
I think of you consciously and subconsciously
I see you in my dreams
And I feel you with my feelings
I hope for the sunrise
And I wait for the sun to shine so I can breathe
When the night comes, I hold the light between my ribs
Your soul passes through me along with the night
And it engulfs my body

Grammar: Question Tag

Question tag is a short question that we put at the end of statement. It is usually used to:
  • confirm that something is true or not
  • encourage a reply from the person we are speaking to
The rules are very simple:
  1. If the main part of the sentence is positive, the question tag is negative
    • positive statement --> negative tag
  2. If the main part of the sentence is negative, the question tag is positive
    • negative statement --> positive tag
Examples:

positive statement is followed by a negative question tag.
  1. Sam is from India, isn't he?
  2. Roy can help, can't he?
  3. We are traveling to Switzerland next month, aren't we?
A negative statement is followed by a positive question tag.
  1. He shouldn't say things like that, should he?
  2. You haven't contacted her, have you?
  3. Our family wont agree with this, will they?
Some of the very basic transformation of question tags:

  • is → isn’t
  • am→ aren’t
  • are→ aren’t
  • will→ won't
  • do → don't
  • does → doesn’t
  • did → didn’t
  • must → musn’t
  • should → shouldn’t
  • have → haven’t
  • has → hasn't
  • can→ can’t
Here is an exercise on question tag:

Striking Quotes!

On education
"Teach the children so it will not be necessary to teach the adults." (Abraham Lincoln)

"When you learn, teach. When you get, give." (Maya Angelou)

"The key to pursuing excellence is to embrace an organic, long-term learning process, and not to live in a shell of static, safe mediocrity. Usually, growth comes at the expense of previous comfort or safety." (Josh Waitzkin)

“Education is learning what you didn’t even know you didn’t know.” (Daniel Boorstin)

"Our best teachers do more than impart facts and figures - they inspire and encourage students and instill a true desire to learn. That's a fine art in itself." (Sonny Perdue)

Developing a desire to learn is the kindling point of all classroom achievement." (Robert John Meehan)

"Learning is not attained by chance. It must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence." (Abigail Adams)

On life

Regret is a dark, hollow path that leads to nowhere good. Good and bad stuff is going to happen to all of us. It’s all part of the journey, and we learn from each experience, I say embrace it. (Sean Kernan)

On love
Love is the condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.(Robert A. Heinlein)

The perfect person can be found within the amazing relationship I work on, the one I determine to commit to. (Dushka Zapata)

When I love someone I want what is best for her. I nourish her, invest myself in her growth and betterment, build her up, foster, cultivate and cherish her. I want her to thrive, to always be improving. To not do this would imply neglect and guarantee her stagnation.(Dushka Zapata)

A good relationship is like a good electric circuit with 2 parallel batteries, if you are charged enough, doesn’t mean that the other battery is. (Mostafa Ali Mansur)

“I guess at some point we fell in love, whatever that means. What the fuck is love anyway? Is it mutual dependance; two bipolar opposites bringing their failings together, making a comprehensive hole? Is it needing someone around all the time, just to feel like yourself? Is it a form of madness— all those cells & neurons giggling like moon-happy coyotes? Is it missing someone, feeling a physical craving for them, even when they are lying right next to you? Yes, I guess we fell in love.” (Barnaby Legg, Godspeed: The Kurt Cobain Graphic)

"Not all love is possible and not all love must be fought for. Some need to just pass. Others don't do justice to the beautiful feeling of love. Let go what is unattainable."

Matchbox Twenty – Unwell

All day staring at the ceiling
Making friends with shadows on my wall
All night hearing voices telling me
That I should get some sleep
Because tomorrow might be good for something

Hold on
Feeling like I'm headed for a breakdown
And I don't know why

CHORUS:
But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be, me

I'm talking to myself in public
Dodging glances on the train
And I know, I know they've all been talking about me
I can hear them whisper
And it makes me think there must be something wrong with me
Out of all the hours thinking
Somehow I've lost my mind

CHORUS

I've been talking in my sleep
Pretty soon they'll come to get me
Yeah, they're taking me away

CHORUS

Hey, how I used to be
How I used to be
Well, I'm just a little unwell
How I used to be
How I used to be
I'm just a little unwell

---

Here's the song.

---
Yeah, I may at times be a bit off the range. I had nightmares too. But, really, I'm fine. Thank you.

I'm weird? Naaaaaahhh.:p

MLTR - Someday

In my search for freedom
And peace of mind
I've left the memories behind
Want to start a new life
But it seems to be rather absurd
When I know the truth
Is that I always think of you

Someday someway
Together we will be baby
I will take and you will take your time
We'll wait for our fate
'cause' nobody owns us baby
We can shake we can shake the rock

Try to throw the picture out of my mind
Try to leave the memories behind
Here by the ocean
Wave's carry voices from you
Do you know the truth
I am thinking of you too

Someday someway
Together we will be baby
I will take and you will take your time
We'll wait for our fate
'cause' nobody owns us baby
We can shake we can shake the rock

The love we had together
Just fades away in time
And now you've got your own world
And I guess I've got mine
But the passion that you planted
In the middle of my heart
Is a passion that will never stop

--

Here's the version of this song that I like, the acoustic one. :)

Such an optimistic song. Simply about someone whom he wants to be with someday but for whatever reason cannot now. For the time being, both are taking their own times in contemplation of having freedom and peace of mind. He wishes that someday they could be together and burn brighter than before. Nevertheless, it seems to him that as time passes by, the love that they had together is fading away, losing its essence little by little for the passing days. They each has their own world now. He acknowledges that whilst the passion that person planted in his heart has been deeply rooted, it is unlikely for them to be able to reconnect again as desired by him. He's being realistic and doesn't lament this desire.

Wonderful and emotional song it is! The catchiness of this song tremendously spread the vibe of goofiness, each time this song is played, each time.... pffttt...

English Grammar: Article

What is article?
  • Article is word used before a noun (or adjective) to denote whether the noun is specific or not.
  • A, an and the are articles.
There are two types of articles:
1) Indefinite Article
  • Indefinite articles are used for non-specific nouns.
  • "a" and "an" are indefinite articles.
  • Article "a" is used before a countable noun that starts with a consonant sound.
    • Examples: a chair, a lamp, a month, a university, a camera, a car

John Mayer - Slow Dancing in a Burning Room

It's not a silly little moment
It's not the storm before the calm
This is the deep and dyin' breath of
This love we've been workin' on

Can't seem to hold you like I want to
So I can feel you in my arms
Nobody's gonna come and save you
We pulled too many false alarms

We're goin' down
And you can see it too
We're goin' down
And you know that we're doomed
My dear
We're slow dancing in a burnin' room

I was the one you always dreamed of
You were the one I tried to draw
How dare you say it's nothing to me
Baby, you're the only light I ever saw

I'll make the most of all the sadness
You'll be a bitch because you can
You try to hit me, just hurt me
So you leave me feeling dirty
'Cause you can't understand

We're goin' down
And you can see it too
We're goin' down
And you know that we're doomed
My dear
We're slow dancing in a burnin' room

Go cry about it, why don't you
Go cry about it, why don't you
Go cry about it, why don't you
My dear, we're slow dancin' in a burnin' room
Burnin' room, burnin' room
Don't you think we outta know by now?
Don't you think we shoulda learned somehow?

Cognitive Development: Piaget

Cognitive Development: Jean Piaget
Piaget and his family

Jean Piaget (1896–1980) was known best for his work in studying the cognitive development of children and adolescents. Piaget hypothesized that children’s cognitive progress through four critical stages in an orderly sequence manner. The four stages correspond with the age of the child, which include the sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete operational and formal operational stages.

Piaget described and explained cognitive development using concepts like schema, assimilation, accommodation and equilibration. Piaget believed that accommodating and assimilating information develop cognitive operations. Knowledge is invented and reinvented by the means of these two important processes as the child develops and constantly interacts with the world around him.

Worksheets: Biographies of Famous People

Young students enjoy stories a lot, be it fictional or non-fictional. Incorporating stories in lesson is an effective way to engage them in learning. Say for example, we want them to learn certain vocabularies, we can include those words in the story we want to cover. As a result, they could better grasp the new vocabulary as they see how it is used in context. Also, the more elaborately students encode the new word during its initial lesson, the better they could recall the new word (if you're interested, you may want to look up the cognitive topic of "maintenance rehearsal vs elaborative rehearsal").

Undeniably, there are lots of other things students could learn by reading biographies - of famous people. Plus, true stories are more inspiring than fiction.

These are some of the objectives of the lesson and activities that we can expect our students to achieve:
  1. To understand what is a "biography".
    • Explain that biography narrates a person's life and achievements, specifically those who have made a difference in the world.
  2. To acquire new vocabularies.
    • Discuss the key and new vocabulary words from the biographies
  3. To gain the benefits of learning biographies.
    • Inspirational readings for students - students should understand that everyone has their own struggles but from biographies they learn how these inspiring people faced problems, overcame obstacles, but determined to succeed.
    • Students learn that hard work and perseverance are the key elements needed in the process of being successful.
Tips:
  1. The students might feel burdened/bored if we directly dive into the biography, because the text might be long and some words might be novel to them. So, we should make them excited on what they are going to learn. How? One and the most practical way is to make your introduction relevant and relatable to their prior knowledge.
  2. To keep their interest, understand them and bring the story to where they want to rather than expecting them to come to our level. We should be able to modify our lesson according to the student's needs.
Here are some of the biographies of important figures in history along with some related comprehension exercises. They are:
  1. Neil Armstrong
  2. Albert Einstein
  3. Steve Jobs

John Paul White - Hate The Way You Love Me

HATE THE WAY YOU LOVE ME

And I hate the way you see me
Like a man who can't be fixed
Like a fool fooling all but you
Who he really is

And I hate the way you hold me
Nervous as a cat
Like I might give in the big idea
You'd forgive me just like that

I wouldn't have it any other way
Heaven knows a sinner needs a saint
Oh but when I've been at my most ugly
I hate the way you love me

You're a hard woman to live with
I could never fill those shoes
An example for our children
I could never live up to

And I hate myself for staying
Where I should and should not be
Someone I know I don't deserve
And doesn't deserve me

I wouldn't have it any other way
Heaven knows a sinner needs a saint
Oh but when I've been at my most ugly
I hate the way you love me

I wouldn't have it any other way
Heaven knows a sinner needs a saint
And I love your everything-I-ain't
But I hate the way
Yes, I hate the way
You love me

LP - Crawling

Crawling in my skin
These wounds, they will not heal
Fear is how I fall
Confusing what is real

There's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface
Consuming, confusing
This lack of self control I fear is never ending
Controlling
I can't seem
To find myself again
My walls are closing in
(Without a sense of confidence I'm convinced
That there's just too much pressure to take)
I've felt this way before
So insecure

Crawling in my skin
These wounds, they will not heal
Fear is how I fall
Confusing what is real

Discomfort, endlessly has pulled itself upon me
Distracting, reacting
Against my will I stand beside my own reflection
It's haunting how I can't seem

To find myself again
My walls are closing in
(Without a sense of confidence I'm convinced
That there's just too much pressure to take)
I've felt this way before
So insecure

Crawling in my skin
These wounds, they will not heal
Fear is how I fall
Confusing what is real

Crawling in my skin
These wounds, they will not heal
Fear is how I fall
Confusing, confusing what is real

There's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface
Consuming (confusing what is real)
This lack of self control I fear is never ending
Controlling (confusing what is real)

UPSR: Proverbs and Idioms

Although there's usually only one question on proverb or idiom (particularly in Paper 1 - MCQ), students have nothing to lose in learning new proverbs and idioms. The benefit is obvious when they come across those phrases later in life.

But, first of all, what's the difference between proverbs and idioms? Here, I quoted the definition of both according to Merriam-Webster:

An idiom is a phrase that has a meaning of its own that cannot be understood from the meanings of its individual words.
Here are some examples of idioms:
  • break a leg
  • over the moon
  • a little bird told me
If translated literally, "break a leg" means to break a person's leg with a stick or anything. But, the idiomatic meaning is to wish someone good luck before any event, exam or performance. So, the meaning should be taken figuratively and can be understood only as a whole since the combination of words when taken together has a meaning different to its literal interpretation.

proverb is a short popular saying that gives advice about how people should behave or that expresses a belief that is generally thought to be true. Here are some examples:
  • Curiosity killed the cat.
  • Those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.
  • A stitch in time saves nine.
Compared to idioms, a proverb can stand on its own, meaning the words mean what they define. For example, "Curiosity killed the cat" means being curious can get you into trouble. In short, proverbs are wise sayings based on comon sense or practicality. Every culture has it. In Malay culture, for example, we have, "Sepandai-pandai tupai melompat, akhirnya jatuh ke tanah jua" which means no matter how cunning you are, you'll finally get busted.

Citizen Cope – Sideways

You know it ain't easy
For these thoughts here to leave me
There's no words to describe it
In French or in English
Well, diamonds they fade
And flowers they bloom
And I'm telling you
These feelings won't go away

They've been knockin' me sideways
They've been knockin' me out lately
Whenever you come around me
These feelings won't go away
They've been knockin' me sideways
I keep thinking in a moment that
Time will take them away
But these feelings won't go away

---

Really, such a beautiful song. It got me immediately the first time I listened to it. I could feel it and somehow could relate to each lines of it. I'm personally find the first few lines are most especially and accurately relatable. Dealing with my own thoughts and emotions, uncontrollably, was/is truly not an easy thing.

The language of this song is absolutely gorgeous. Deep. Isn't diamond one of the hardest/strongest metal? But, why it says "diamonds they fade"? Would that be possible? And "flowers they bloom" follows next. These two lines contradict each other, aren't they? So, why?

So amazing, we can get this song interpreted in many ways, anyway we want to, and one's interpretation is very likely to differ from others.

These type of songs really catch my attention and interest.

Fahami Bacaan dalam Solat

Rasulullah s.a.w bersabda yang maksudnya:

(HR Tirmizi)

Makna Bacaan Dalam Solat (Lafaz dan terjemahannya). Semoga solat kita lebih bermakna seterusnya berjaya mewarnai segenap kehidupan kita.

Makna bacaan dalam solat from IMSHA LEARNING

Solat itu...
membuahkan perasaan berlainan
daripada satu insan ke insan lain
meski untuk insan yang sama
tidak mustahil berubah perasaannya
kerna solat itu
ibadah paling terutama
selayaknya paling perlu istiqamahnya
kerna itu butuh kesungguhan memeliharanya

kesempurnaannya membutuhkan kesiagaan...

dalam niatnya
dalam lafaznya
dalam fahamnya
dalam amalnya
dalam mujahadah memeliharanya

nikmatnya...
hanya dirasai oleh yang merasai...
tak terungkapkan dek kata-kata
manisnya...
jauh berganda daripada gambaran
manisnya rasa
madu, gula mahupun epal.
